Service Terms*
- Services performed at client’s premises or designated location. Client to provide water and electricity. Within 10-15m of the parking area.
- Pets must be accessible and secure during service. No Mobile Paws staff member will enter a home, clients must hand over pets for the service to be rendered.
- If a Mobile Paws staff member must enter a premises, client supervision must be present. Mobile Paws takes no responsibility for loss of property and damages.
- Additional fees for extreme matting, and tangling can and will be charged.
- We do not shave any pets that fall into the ‘short hair classes’, it can only be done at the clients request and at an additional fee.
- You are encouraged to book your service in advance and give grooming instructions the day before the service is provided, via WhatsApp, as this will determine time slots booked. Mobile Paws will not shave or de-matte any pet if the service wasn’t booked in advance.
- Grooming can commence in all weather conditions, but it’s the client’s responsibility to check weather conditions prior to booking and then to cancel or reschedule in advance.
- Bookings are not reserved until payment is made in full or payment arrangements are agreed upon by both parties.
- Mobile Paws reserves the right to cancel bookings for whatever reason, including but not limited to: incorrect information being provided, events outside of Mobile Paws control.
- Clients will not hold Mobile Paws responsible, its staff nor owners liable for any loss or injury to their pets and/or property.
- As a mobile grooming service, Mobile Paws will use the client’s water and electricity to deliver the service in the comfort of the client’s home. It is the owner’s responsibility, to appoint someone or to confirm themselves that all electrical points are switched on and off as they prefer and that taps are closed to their preference after service is completed.
- It is the responsibility of the client to ensure a safe parking location. If Mobile Paws or its staff members incur any loss, because of unsafe parking, Mobile Paws may hold the client liable
*Cancellation Policy*
- 24-hour notice required for cancellations
- Late cancellations subject to full payment
*Pricing and Payment Terms*
1. Prices are based on size of the pet by weight, coat type and condition. In the case of a dispute on the size of the dog, we will use the average weight as stipulated for the breed.
2. Prices given based on the information provided by the client. The client is responsible for disclosing all important information related to the size, weight, breed, and coat condition.
3. Mobile Paws reserves the right to change price if the condition or size of the pet requires more work than anticipated.
4. Mobile Paws reserves the right to charge an additional fee for severely matted dogs and cats in addition to pricing agreed upon.
5. Payment is required in full prior to arrival unless otherwise arranged.
6. Bookings are not confirmed until payment is made in full, unless otherwise arranged.
7. At the latest and upon arrangement full payment must be made in the same month as the services rendered, failure to do so will incur interest and legal action.
8. If upon arrival, there are additional requirements payment will be required prior to grooming.
9. Failure to make timeous payment will result in late payment fees and interest and may result in an impaired credit record.
*Operating Hours Depending on Branch*
- Our hours of operations are Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm and selective Saturdays.
- Last appointments of the day must begin no later than 4pm, unless otherwise agreed, depending on the breed and condition.
- If the client delays the team from grooming a pet, then Mobile Paws reserves the right to charge an additional R50 for every 15min delay. We reserve the right to turn away clients that are over 15 minutes late for their appointment.
- Please note we do not guarantee arrival times as we deal with many factors that can cause delays including but not limited to loadshedding, traffic, moody pets.
- No refunds or rescheduling will be allowed if clients or their pets are not present on arrival.
*Pictures and Marketing*
- Owners agree to their pet being photographed/videoed and that all footage can be used for marketing purposes.
*Pets Temperament and Overall Condition*
- Pets that are aggressive, overly scared/anxious, difficult or tend to bite will generally not be groomed for their safety and ours.
- If false representations about the pet’s behavior were made when asked during booking of an appointment, we will discontinue services and Client will still be responsible for the full grooming charge. Client will be liable for any bites, or any property damage caused by their pet(s)
- Severely matted dogs, and cats, will be shaved to prevent pain and suffering.
- By using Mobile Paws services, the client grants permission for matted hair to be shaved and stripped. The additional cost of this will be carried by the client.
- It should be noted that there is a greater risk of cuts and injury for severely matted pets and Mobile Paws will not be held liable for the injury of any pet.
- Shaving heavily matted fur can potentially cause or expose irritated skin.
- No refunds will be processed if Mobile Paws staff are unable to groom your pet due to the severity of the matting.
- Shaving your pet may dramatically change your pet’s appearance and the hair will be very close to the skin. This may expose pre-existing skin conditions. Client’s pet will receive a shave down & start over. Closely shaved pets are also prone to sunburn & should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows back to protect the skin.
- In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes.
- In certain breeds & coat types, the coat may not grow back the same. Removing a heavily matted coat includes the risk of nicks, cuts and/or abrasions due to moles, warts or skin folds trapped in the mats.
- Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin which can cause mold, fungus, bacteria or skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. The after-effects of mat removal procedures may include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, or failure of hair to re-grow. Client is responsible for the condition of the pet’s coat and will not hold Mobile Paws responsible in the event of adverse effects of mat removal.
*Health and Safety*
1. It must be clearly understood and agreed that our first concern is for the welfare of your pet so in the event of an emergency, injury or illness a vet may be called in and all costs in connection with and in the carrying out of this instruction shall be at the owner’s expense.
2. All pets must be in good overall health and has no underlying medical conditions that could be exacerbated by grooming, including but not limited to:
a. Heart conditions
b. Respiratory problems
c. Skin allergies or sensitivities
d. Chronic pain or arthritis
e. Recent surgeries or injuries
f. Pregnancy or nursing
3. Pets must be up to date on all necessary vaccinations, preventatives, and medications, including but not limited to:
a. Rabies
b. Distemper
c. Parvovirus
d. Flea and tick prevention
e. Heartworm prevention
Pets has no known allergies or sensitivities to:
f. Grooming products (shampoos, conditioners, dips etc.)
g. Equipment (clippers, scissors, etc.)
4. All Medical Conditions must be communicated and disclosed including but not limited to:
a. Seizure disorders
b. Hearing or vision impairments
c. Mobility issues (arthritis, hip dysplasia, etc.)
d. Skin conditions (acne, eczema, etc.)
Grooming can be cancelled at any time at full payment if the grooming staff feel that a pet’s health and response to grooming is a risk.
*Senior Pets*
- Grooming procedures sometimes can be stressful, especially for a senior pet or a pet with health problems. Because senior pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress. Mobile Paws will not be responsible for accident or injury to an elderly or health-compromised pet during their grooming.
*Ticks and Fleas*
- The owners of pets with ticks and fleas will be notified and treatment in the form of a dip is advisable and will be carried out by the groomers at the owners’ request. Mobile Paws will not be held responsible or liable for any adverse skin reactions. We suggest that a spot-on or chewable tablet be used especially for pets with sensitive skin. It should also be noted that a dip kills only the ticks/fleas on the pet at the time and the home environment will need to be treated as well to prevent infestation.
- Clients must be made aware that these treatments are not always a 100% effective.
- Mobile Paws takes great care in ensuring a clean environment. We will however not be held liable or take any responsibility for your pet catching ticks or fleas. Dogs and cats can become infested with ticks and fleas in numerous ways and from multiple sources.
*Litigation*
1. Clients consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrates Court.
*Whole Agreement*
By accepting the terms and conditions, I, understand and agree to the above terms for the grooming and maintenance of my pet(s). In consideration of the grooming services, I agree to hold Mobile Paws harmless from any and all damage, loss, or claims to pet, personal or real property. I acknowledge that the interpretation of this provision is to be read in the broadest sense possible and encompasses any real or perceived negligence and all acts performed reasonable within the scope of service by Mobile Paws, its agents, its employees or representatives. The terms, special services or handling shall include but are not limited to emergency veterinarian services in the event I am not available. Any/all damages, loss or claim shall include, but not be limited to death, injury, or shock. Said pre-existing conditions shall include, but not be limited to advanced age, extreme nervousness, neurosis, illness, previous injury, skin or coat conditions, or medical conditions. I authorize Mobile Paws and/or its agents, employees or representatives to act as my agent in the event emergency veterinarian services, caretaking, and/or transportation become necessary and agree to pay all costs. I, have read, understand and agree to the above terms and my rights and obligations for grooming and maintenance as stated in the agreement for the services of pet grooming through Mobile Paws.
This constitutes the whole agreement between all parties.
